Nintendo has revealed a new toy line called “Amiibo”. Each figure bears the likeness of classic video game characters including Mario, Princess Peach, and Link from The Legend Of Zelda.
Created for the WiiU version of Super Smash Bros., which will be released during this year’s holiday season, each figure can “come to life” when its base touches the WiiU game pad.
Once this figure has been “transported” into the game, you can play as the character. It will gain experience points, level up, and boost its attack powers. These figures can also “learn” abilities to make them stronger.
Each player can customize each figure to suit his preferences, so no two characters are completely alike. These “Amiibo” can be used to battle each other, against a computer, or even to form a team.
