Shocking Photos Of Battered Famous People For Campaign Against Torture

Creative agency Air has created a series of ads for human rights organization Amnesty International that speaks against torture.

The ads features beaten and bruised images of famous people such as rock star Iggy Pop, the Dalai Lama and designer Karl Lagerfeld with the slogan “torture a man and he will tell you anything”.

Through these photos, Amnesty wanted to convey the message that under torture, a person will say anything you want him to say.

To emphasize the message, an unlikely quote by the subject is placed alongside their image. For example, Iggy Pop is quoted as saying “The future of rock’n‘roll is Justin Bieber” and Karl Lagerfeld saying “A Hawaiian shirt and flip-flops are the height of elegance”.
