Spectacular Aerial Photographs Show Beauty Of The Earth’s Man-Made Landscapes

Puenta de Vallecas. Madrid, Spain. (40.398204°N 3.669059°W)

We’ve previously featured stunning aerial photographs that capture the remarkable beauty of the world.

Daily Overview’ is a project that compiles fascinating satellite imagery of the planet that seeks to cultivate greater appreciation for the Earth.

It is inspired by the ‘Overview Effect’, a term coined by author Frank White in 1987. The term refers to “a cognitive shift in awareness” and perspective experienced by astronauts and cosmonauts, while viewing the Earth from orbit or a lunar surface.

The images are taken from Apple Maps and powered by satellite image company DigitalGlobe, and showcase the spectacular beauty of the Earth’s man-made landscapes.

They range from lush green fields to systematic grid layouts of urban areas, from which stunning geometric patterns and vibrant colors emerge.

For those who wish to find out more, each picture comes tagged with its corresponding geo-coordinates that pin-point the area’s exact location.
