Young Lady Travels Around Europe With Life-Size Cardboard Cutout Of Her Late Dad

Father’s Day was this past weekend, but for Jinna Yang it was an occasion marked by sadness rather than happiness.

The New York-based photographer lost her father to cancer two years ago, and wrote about it on her blog.

As he died before he got a chance to see the world, she brought along a giant cardboard cutout of him on her travels in Europe, and documented it on Instagram.

It was also a way of dealing with her sense of aimlessness, as she felt stuck and lost in her life due to work pressure, an unsupportive boyfriend, and lingering grief from her dad’s passing.

She sold most of her clothes, left behind her life in the city, and bought a one-way ticket to Iceland armed with only a backpack.

According to Yang, her project is helping herself, her stepmother and two younger siblings come to terms with his death.
