In its latest campaign for the popular Oreo cookie,—“ Cookie Vs. Creme”—Nabisco has invited “the world’s best roboticists, artists and tinkerers” to create Oreo separator machines.
Considering that billions of man-hours have been wasted on the simple task of splitting apart Oreos, these machines are a serious attempt to make the world a better place with more efficient cookie-eating.
The third machine in the series is the brainchild of conceptual artists from the London-based collective Dentaku, who created “The Oreo Wheel”, which looks like a miniature Ferris wheel.
Using the rotating motion of the wheel and a pair of simple blades, the machine successfully separates the chocolate cookie and creme parts of Oreos—after many rounds of trouble-shooting.
