Scott van Haastrecht woke up every morning to the same old boring plain piece of toast. One day, he decided that he needed to see something more surprising featuring on his daily bread.
And that marked the humble beginnings of The Image Toaster.
Haastrecht designed it such that it would be able to run searches on Google Images every morning. The search for an image would correspond with the date that the toaster is switched on, minimizing a case of repeated images.
The Image Toaster then burns, while it's toasting the rest of your bread, a randomly chosen image from Google Images onto your toast at an adorable ‘resolution’ of 6×6 pixels.
6 x 6 pixels may not be a lot, but it sure is fun to wake up to a different image on your toast each morning.
