Matchsticks Portray The Exhaustion Of Humans

German artist Wolfgang Stiller has created a series of sculptures that portrays the impact of diseases on the human soul.

Titled ‘Burnout’, these burnt matchsticks consist of soulless heads being burnt—demonstrating a form of exhaustion and desperation.

Some are laid to rest in their matchbox coffins, in reference to worn out matches–like burned out human beings.

Stiller’s artworks will showcase at Python Gallery in Zurich from 8 March 2013 to 20 April 2013.
