62 Illustrators And 14 Musicians Collaborate To Make Wonderful Doodle Animation

Animator Dante Zaballa gathered 62 illustrators for ‘The Doodle Project’, an experiment in collaborative creative energy that would take the simple animated doodle to the next level.

Each frame of a hand-drawn, 18 seconds animation sequence was passed on to a different artist, who customized the still with his or her own style.

The animation was then placed in the hands of different sound engineers, who composed eclectic soundtracks for different segments of the video.

The result? A wonderfully schizophrenic, colorful frenzy of quirky characters that burst to life in one complete animation.

Described by Zaballa as “a big collaborative group hug”, the animation showcases the best animation styles of today—pause to see stills of characters at random, or find them here.
