Danish artist Pernille Snedker Hansen makes beautiful organic art by filling in the natural growth rings of wood with vibrant colors.
Inspired by colors refracted through a prism, she repurposes an old marbling technique to achieve a colorful, layered effect in Scandinavian pinewood, which she terms ‘Marbelous Wood’.
Hansen allows the natural wood grains to guide her as she paints each wooden plank meticulously, resulting in a graphic array of unique patterns.
The sprawling pattern can be used to adorn floors and walls, creating a pleasant visual experience.
