Apple Unveils Refreshed Architectural Design At New Retail Store

Apple is expected to introduce a refreshed architectural design for its retail outlets as new stores are opened worldwide—Gary Allen of ifo Apple Store has given us a sneak peek of the revamped design.

The new Apple Store at the Stanford 2 mall in Northern California was unveiled last night, to reveal an uncommonly open retail space that has glass walls on three sides.

Featuring “a wide glass storefront, stone interior and a overhanging stainless steel roof”, this latest Apple store allows a huge amount of natural light to stream in, while giving passers-by an unobstructed view of its interior.

The new design is not restricted to the interior—Apple has also reconstructed the plaza in front of the outlet, to create pleasing symmetry and provide shoppers with a place to sit and admire the store.

What do you think—is this an improved version of the iconic Apple Store, or should the tech company stick to the original?
