Composite Underwater Photographs Show How Dolphins Do Their Tricks

Cancun, Mexico-based photographer Felix Hernandez R. recently produced a series of images for a Dolphinarium that shows these lovable sea mammals in action.

The photographer was required to show in a single image how the dolphin performs the “footpush” trick—the viewer must be able to see what is happening both underwater and above-water at the same time.

Managing to push a human through a water by their feet is actually quite a feat for the dolphin, and one of these pictures in the series shows just how the dolphin achieve this.

To create these photographs, the photographer had to stitch together four images to make a composite image.
