Minneapolis-based street artist HOTTEA was in New York City last week and took the opportunity to create a wonderful piece on the Williamsburg Bridge.
By covering the top of a pedestrian tunnel with strands of colourful thread, he creates a gorgeous rainbow canopy above the walkway, which turns the mundane experience of going through the tunnel into a whimsical one.
A lot of effort went into the piece—the artist and his assistant took 11 hours to carefully cut and tie in place 2,000 strands of thread in order to complete the artwork.
