Beautiful, Atmospheric Photographs Of Abandoned Castles

Carreg Cennen

Like Amsterdam-based photographer Jonathan Andrew’s night shots of abandoned WWII bunkers, UK-based creative director and photographer Andy Lee recently captured some beautiful, atmospheric photographs of abandoned castles in Wales and Scotland for his series ‘Castles Made of Sand’.

Shrouded in fog and surrounded by vast mountains and seas, the lone structures possess an air of mystery, which is further heightened by the contrast between the skies and the ground.

Check out some of Lee’s photographs below and view the rest of the series here.
