This Urban Beehive You Can Keep In Your Home May Soon Become A Reality

As part of technology company Phillips’ Microbial Home project, they have designed a concept for an urban beehive that may very well be something you can keep in your home in the near future.

It comprises of a flower pot outside the hive and a glass container full of honeycomb frames inside the hive. The flowers and honeycomb aim to attract bees to make the urban beehive their home. The bees would enter through a specially designed entryway.

The bottom of the hive is a smoke actuator that lets you calm the bees down before you remove the cover to collect honey.

With a sleek and stylish design that will fit right in your modern home, this Phillips Urban Beehive concept also aims to solve the problem of declining bee colonies and help bee preservation.

The Phillips’ Microbial Home project is a series of design concepts that are aimed at boosting sustainability efforts in modern homes.
