Amazingly Realistic Everyday Objects That Are Actually Made Of Paper

At first glance, the works by Los Angeles-based artist Vincent Tomczyk simply look like regular objects you will come across everyday—furniture, clothes and framed art on walls.

In fact, all these nondescript objects are actually made entirely of paper that has been manipulated to display the textures and other visual qualities of plastic, wood and fabric.

From a worn leather wallet to a perfect replica of a famous Eames chair, each piece takes a long time to complete—for instance, the denim shorts shown below took about 100 hours of meticulous work.

If you want to see these artworks up close, Tomczyk’s solo show opens on 4 May 2013 at Gallery 825 in Los Angeles.
