Tearing, Folding Creates 3D-Effect In Re-Photographed Stills

Photographer Laura Plageman brought to life the 3D effect in her photo series, 'Response’, by folding or tearing her images.

Plageman explained that through this series, she is, “responding to photographs both as representations and tangible objects.”

Through physically altering the enlarged prints and then “re-photographing the results”, Plageman was able to create a body of work that “oscillate[s] between image and object, photography and sculpture, landscape and still life”.
