Finnish photographer Mikko Lagerstedt has just unveiled a new series of dreamy pictures showcasing wild animals prowling along deserted streets at night simply titled “Night Animals”.
From the common cat to an exotic peacock, Lagerstedt depicts these creatures mysteriously on what looks to be the streets of a small town, dimly lit with soft lamplight.
As it is unlikely to come across a stray ostrich on an empty street, these photographs are actually made of two images—one of the atmospheric background and the other of the animal itself, both captured by Lagerstedt.
However, the picture featuring a cat under a tree was actually shot on site—it also inspired the rest of the series.
