Musician Turns His CDs Into Quirky Wall Art

We live in the age of digital downloads where CDs have pretty much vanished into the has-been pile.

Cassette tapes and vinyl records have an old-school charm that makes them appealing, but the CD seems to be stuck in the awkward stage of ‘still modern but obsolete’.

Brazilian art director and musician, Gabriel Gariba, decided to breathe life into the tired CD format with his project, ‘Songs That Adorn Walls’.

Gariba designed a set of wall frames that incorporate CDs into whimsical art pieces.

Colorful and unique, the frames make quirky wall decorations.

Each CD contains 5 tracks that complement their matching art pieces, so that each frame becomes “a visual representation” of Gariba’s songs.

Listen to some of Gariba’s songs on his website.
