
It is not often that you would find a library that is built right by a highway, but that is exactly where the Kirkwood Public Library in New Castle, Delaware is located.
Designed by ikon.5 architects, the attractive building looks like a pile books to the drivers on the highway—according to its creators, they wanted it to be a “roadside billboard” that advertises for reading, learning and exploration.
Eye-catching on the outside, the library is beautifully decorated on the inside, featuring bright color accents and plenty of light that streams in through the lovely floor-to-ceiling windows.
