Design blog Design Sponge has recently featured some unusual carved pumpkins—Brooklyn-based pattern designer Dan Funderburgh’s wonderful laser-cut Jack-O-Lantern stood out for its sheer beauty and use of technology.
Slicing two discs off the front of the pumpkin, he then proceeded to laser-cut a Mexican punch tin design on one and a Arabesque Mashrabiya design on the other—the two are then layered to create an intricate geometric pattern.
If you would like to try making your own laser-cut carved pumpkin, check out Funderburgh’s carving tutorial over here—doesn’t this make you feel that you should attempt to create a more spectacular pumpkin this Halloween?
