Website Worth1000 has run an on-going series of photo manipulation contests—titled “Superhero ModRen”—that challenges members of its community to paint comic book superheroes into classic Renaissance artworks.
The submissions to the series vary in style, but many of them are actually very well done despite—in some cases, the superhero elements blend so seamlessly with the original paintings, prompting one to contemplate what the Renaissance would look like if they had superheroes back then.
