Banksy’s Ingenious Plato ‘Quote’ Turns Up In A Brookyn Neighborhood

The secretive British street artist Banksy has struck again, this time in the Polish neighborhood of Greenpoint in Brooklyn.

He unveiled his eighth work, part of a month-long art exhibit called ‘Better Out Than In’ via Instagram.

The words scrawled in white on a door read “I have a theory that you can make any sentence seem profound by writing the name of a dead philosopher at the end of it”, signed off by the philosopher Plato.

According to Twitter, the piece is at 266-270 Freeman Street. As with his previous works, it was swiftly taken down – it appears the owner has removed the door, presumably to sell it.

With three weeks til the end of October, it is anybody’s guess where Banksy’s next work will appear.
