After Banksy’s short hiatus yesterday, the street artist is now back with a new work outside New York’s Hustler Club.
The work of art depicts a man in a tuxedo despondently staring at the floor as though he has been stood up.
The caption on Banksy’s website reads, “Waiting in vain... at the door of the club”.
To preserve this work of art, the club’s owners asked their security guard Jesse Wright to protect it, with Wright allowing fans to pose with the work of art “if they ask nicely”.
Steve Karel, the marketing director of the club, states that he is honored to have Banksy’s work of art grace the club, although the team will soon “remove the door to keep it safe from vandals” so that it can be put up in the future.
With only seven days left to his residency in New York, we wonder what Banksy will come up with next.
