In France, the Toulouse University has recently opened a new on-campus supermarket that aims to spice up varsity life.
In the new campus mart, the ‘CNOUS* MINI M’, more fresh food is being introduced to be sold, going against the norm of campus markets being places to buy food that is not healthy or fresh.
Designer Matali Crasset collaborated with the French national office of student services to create this new market, which aims to stock food at student-friendly prices.
Their philosophy of being fresh is also evident in its design. The MINI M springs with color, juxtaposing against the grey student housing blocks that surrounds it.
The market also uses color to differentiate the zones in the market, such as the “global” section comprising of canned and jarred foods, and the “vital” section, which stocks essential fruits and vegetables.
Crasset also worked with graphic designers to create a unique branding for MINI M, making the shopping experience at MINI M an unforgettable one.
