Thanks to an innovation by performance apparel brand Under Armour, you would no longer need to acquire ninja-like skills just to be able to do up the zipper on your coat with one hand.
Named the “Magzip”, this new and improved zipper is based on a simple idea—a clasp whose two ends are guided together by magnetic forces.
Originally designed by engineer Scott Peters for people suffering from illnesses that cause them to lose their fine motor skills and coordination, the Magzip took 25 different prototypes to perfect.
Currently licensed by Under Armour, it would debut on the brand’s new clothing line that is set to be released in Fall 2014.
We wonder what took the world so long to come up with this simple but ingenious solution that would put an end to the frustrating moments spent fumbling with one’s zipper.
