Volvo Trucks, no stranger to using crazy stunts to highlight the features of its vehicles, has pulled off another one, this time involving bulls in a medieval Spanish town.
‘The Chase’ features precision driver Rob Hunt driving a red Volvo FL down the narrow, winding streets of Ciudad Rodrigo, home of the original bull run, while being chased by a stampede of angry bulls. The exhilarating video also shows dozens of traditional bull runners attempting to reach safety from the charging animals.
Directed by Oscar-nominated director Henry-Alex Rubin and a crew of 250 people, it was filmed with 28 cameras, “including an octocopter and a 360-degree camera”.
The hardest part was ensuring the safety of the people and animals, but happily both parties emerged unscathed at the end of filming. For concerned viewers, the bulls have since retired to a farm outside Guadalajara, where they will live out their remaining days in peace and quiet.
Volvo previously balanced its president on a crane in Sweden and had a hamster steer a truck around a quarry.
With its increasingly extreme ads, all eyes will certainly be on Volvo to see what crazy feat it will come up with next.
