A Daughter Lovingly Builds A Writer's Workspace By The River For Her Mom

Oregon-based architect and university professor Erin Moore recently found an opportunity to build a unique project for her mother, professor and nature writer, Kathleen Dean Moore.

She built mom a quiet retreat that they call the 'Watershed', where computers are not allowed and all writing is done by hand.

Kathleen wanted a quiet workspace near the wetlands on the banks of the Marys River in Oregon.

As a result, Erin constructed a little cabin like no other. It utilizes a prefabricated steel frame and materials like red cedar, glass and concrete.

The result is a stylish, modern and yet nature-inspired writer's retreat that is just perfect for Kathleen, and the envy of all writers seeking solitude.
