The Salina Turda Salt Mines of Romania have been converted into a museum that showcases its history.
Visitors use the elevator to plummet down 120-meters to find a strange carnival-like building glowing with LED lights. These elevators also lead to three museum chambers, showcasing different exhibits as well as mining equipment.
Those less interested in mining can take a boat tour on the subterranean lake, admiring the patterns on the cave walls.
Recreational areas like a playground, sports arena, and amphitheater also cater to those who would like to imagine what it would be like to live underground.
Would you visit this quirkily furnished museum?
