Faber-Castell Reveals ‘Pen Of The Year’ For 2014

Faber-Castell’s pen of the year for 2014 is an elegantly fashioned writing instrument made of gold, quartz, and jasper.

Drawing inspiration from Russia’s Catherine Palace, Boris Igdalov designed this beautiful pen in two versions for the company’s luxury line.

The regular version has red jasper adorning its platinum-plated barrel while its cap is embellished with Russian quartz.

The special version is made with 24-karat gold, with an 18-karat gold nib. Quartz and jasper stones decorate its exterior, and the instrument is equipped with a plunger mechanism that has a rotary knob.

Although these pens will not be out until next year, only 150 of them will be available—the regular version is priced at US$4,350 while the special version is priced at US$9,500.

Would you get one of these?
