Glossy icing, scrumptious cupcakes, maraschino cherries and other delectables come alive under the hands of Luigi Benedicenti.
The Italian artist is guided by the still-life tradition that originated in late 16th century Europe. His style of ‘Extreme Realism’ is used in the creation of palatable, realistic paintings of contemporary Italian patisserie.
“The strong artificial lights utilized during the early stages of his paintings allow him to get the essence of the subject depicted and convey the same sensorial feelings that the object would produce in real life,” reads a description on the Albermarle Gallery site.
