Ukrainian artist Stanislav Krawczyk spent most of his childhood confined to the hospital. He was born with cerebral palsy and a degenerative eye condition that made childhood a painful, constant struggle.

Krawczyk found his voice in art and at 13 decided to become an artist. His genre of choice is dark art, which he uses as a means to channel his emotions and express his inner pain.

Having left Ukraine a year ago, Krawczyk has joined like-minded artists in Los Angeles, thriving as part of the dark art society and the larger city culture. According to him, dark art is a combination of reality and nightmares, and he finds it is the perfect medium to express himself.

His art is made up of simple, gothic line work, producing various unsettling portraits. Scroll down to see more of his work or find more here.
