As early as two years ago, Artiphon introduced Instrument 1, an electronic instrument that can sound like a piano, guitar, violin or bass. The wait is over, and you can now get your hands on Instrument 1 now.
The device is primarily a fret board, with a "body" consisting of a bridge, speaker, volume knob and instrument pre-sets. It can connect to your iPhone, iPad, Macs and PCs and will output any sound based on any running MIDI app. The device's automated modes also allow users to make melodies despite not knowing how to play an instrument. Artiphon also offers a companion app that helps users play the instrument.
Instrument 1 is available through Artiphon's Kickstarter campaign, which was fully funded in under six hours. The device is available in black and white, and also in a special Nashville Edition with a beautiful hardwood back.
