Japanese students from the Tsukuba University has developed an intriguing robotic coat that is designed to hug its wearer like a real, living-and-breathing girlfriend.
Obviously made for men without girlfriends, this new garment/machine simulates the feeling of being hugged around the waist, from behind, by a girlfriend.
Featuring two robotic pinchers,—controlled via USB by a computer—the experience of wearing this coat is enhanced by audio elements like a female voice speaking to the wearer in an intimate manner right before the simulated hug.
Currently, the creators of “The Girlfriend Coat” have no intention of producing it commercially, so lonely guys out there will just have to continue looking for other ways to get hugs.
