In Photos, Japan In A Rare Occurrence Of Snow During Cherry Blossom Season

@ao_0356

Cherry blossom season in Japan only happens when it’s spring.

That is why when snowfall happened with all the fully-bloomed cherry blossoms yesterday, the residents in Nagano prefecture were out-and-out surprised.

The rare occurrence—probably brought about by global warming, or just the strange weather that’s been happening worldwide—was one in a million, with two beautiful natural elements of flowers and snow appearing simultaneously.

Nagano prefecture was turned into a magical winter wonderland.

In a post by Johnny of Spoon & Tamago, features crowd-sourced images of the extraordinary phenomenon captured by some of Nagano prefecture’s residents.
