Dan Zarrella collected a database of more than 1.3 million Facebook posts that, according to him, were published on the top 10,000 of the ‘most-liked Facebook pages.’
He then analyzed and translated what all that data meant into a neat and easy-to-understand infographic.
Unsurprisingly, images and photos performed the best in terms of influence on ‘Like’, ‘Share’ and ‘Comment’ percentages.
Intriguingly, short posts received higher ‘Like’ percentages, whereas longer posts tended to get more ‘Shares’ on the social networking site.
Moreover, unlike other social media platforms, the use of ‘self-referential words’ like “I” and “me” in posts, were generally inclined to receive more ‘Likes’.
