Manchester-based graphic designer David Rutter has come up with a new ticket design for the United Kingdom National Rail.
He was fed up with the garish colors and boring typography of the ticket, so he took it upon himself to redesign the ticket.
In his concept, he had merely wanted to ensure that the ticket was easy to read. By removing all unnecessary information and clearly color-coding various ticket types for train inspectors, he made the tickets easy to read and identify at a glance.
He has also added new features to the design to include provisions for train service updates.
Rutter’s concept is not only easy on the eye, it also ensures that tickets can be easily read.
