Sydney-based designer Felix Lobelius has created a typeface that is devoted to helping dyslexics better perceive text.
Using ‘symptoms of dyslexia’ as a starting point for his work, he discovered that people with dyslexia have trouble reading as text seems to jump and get rearranged when they try to make sense of the words.
That inspired him to create a typeface that helps the brain address this. There have been several other attempts at creating typefaces for dyslexics, such as Dyslexie, previously featured here.
Lobelius’ work is certainly thoughtful and inspiring.
