Manchester-based graphic designer David Rutter has came up with a new ticket design for the United Kingdom National Rail.
He was fed up with the garish colors and boring typography of the ticket, so he took it upon himself to redesign it.
In his concept, he had merely wanted to ensure that the ticket was easy to read and identify for train inspectors and passengers alike—and did so, by simply removing all unnecessary information and clearly color-coding various ticket types.
He has also added new features to the design to include provisions for train service updates.
Rutter’s concept not only ensures that tickets can be easily read, it is also easy on the eye.
