Astounding Photographic Images Created On Rusty Old Cans

American photographer and artist David Emitt Adams has created an interesting project where he prints striking tintype pictures on rusty old tin cans that he found in the Arizona desert.

This unusual series is inspired by the poetic similarity shared by the old tin cans and photography—both are the results of exposure to light and time.

The images branded onto the tin cans directly reflects the locations in which they are found—while many of them depict the desolate but beautiful desert landscape, some others are of modern construction sites.

Produced in black and white, these striking tin can photographs are created through an antique, labor-intensive process called wet-plate collodion.
