In his photo series called ‘Landscape with a Corpse’, Japanese photographer Izaima Kaoru combines the subject of death and fashion in hauntingly beautiful manner.
Kaoru first invited female models to fantasize about their perfect way to die.
He then asked them which designer clothing they would like to wear when their ‘dead’ body gets discovered.
With the information, the photographer recreates the models’ fantasies—capturing them in death as they lay motionless, dressed in their very best.
Kaoru has been working on this series since 1995.
