Believing that “memory is not a movie, nor a photo”, but instead closer to being like a GIF animation, Jiho Jang has created a Polaroid camera that produces physical GIF animations in the form of a flipbook.
Jang’s design is part of his thesis project, and works by taking a sequence of Polaroid pictures, which are developed and printed instantly. This is then combined into a flipbook.
Unfortunately for all you GIF lovers out there, there is only one copy of the GIFTY in existence right now, and Jang has made a video showing how it works.
