Photographer ‘Blows Up’ Everyday Objects, Arranges Parts In Neat Formations

Toronto-based photographer Todd Mclellan has created an intriguing new project—entitled “Things Come Apart”—that showcases ordinary everyday objects, broken down into their many parts and arranged neatly.

Featuring both retro and contemporary objects, like a typewriter and a Blackberry smartphone, this fascinating collection of images shows that even the simplest household appliances can be surprisingly complex in their mechanical construction.

For instance, the classic bicycle is made up of countless little nuts, bolts and screws that holds larger parts like the wheels and saddle together.

The photographer has also shot images that depict these objects “exploding” in mid-air, which are meant to be a commentary on obsolete technologies of the past.

There is something mesmerizing about things that are arranged in an obsessively neat and organized way, don’t you think?
