Photographer Brings Wooden Mannequin To Life In Imaginative Photo Series

Minneapolis-based photographer and design manager Nicolas Vallejos has been capturing imaginative photos of a wooden mannequin called ‘Woody’, which represents his alter-ego.

In his life, Vallejos had always dreamed of becoming an astronaut, a sushi chef and getting a tattoo—but he never had the chance.

However, with Woody, he has the opportunity to live out those fantasies vicariously.

He said, “[Woody] basically can be anything that I wanted to be and didn’t have either the time, patience or skills. And taking those pictures are the most fun.”

Since discovering Woody in 2003, Vallejos has created over 300 shots.

He brings Woody to life by placing it in various scenarios and even portraying the mannequin as famous celebrities.

Check out his album of Woody pictures here.
