New York-based artist Pamela Tietze created an avant-garde-esque line of spectacles that’s a cross between art and fashion.
The mesmerizing ‘h0les kaleidoscope glasses’ have lenses made out of crystal glass prisms used in chandeliers.
Besides being aesthetically alluring given their unique psychedelic appearance, the spectacles give its wearers visual chaos of fantastical kaleidoscope visions created out of reality.
While wearing the unconventional eyewear—that’s not the most practical—one feels as if they’re looking ‘down the rabbit hole’.
“The outer prismatic finish directly addresses the fact that when wearing the piece, the viewer himself or herself is being viewed, taking Olafur Eliasson’s ‘Seeing Yourself Seeing’ a step further to ‘Seeing Someone Seeing You Seeing’ and so on,” Tietze wrote.
“In the end, I hope they evoke the feeling of being a tourist in your own reality.”
