In her print series ‘China Vs Chinatown’, New York City-based art director Mengwen Xiang compares the difference between the people in China and the people in ‘Chinatown’.
According to her, Chinatown—in the eyes of westerns—has become a stereotype of China, but in true fact, there are a lot of differences between the two.
“I try to stand in an objective angle to compare both China and Chinatown from literal to realization to let people from western know better about China; and let foreign countries-born Chinese get to know their own roots better,” wrote Xiang.
