Cuban-American artist Jorge Rodrigeuz-Gerada has recently created a gigantic portrait in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which is so large that it can only be viewed from either the highest points in the city or an airplane.

Made with 30,000 wooden stakes and eight-million pounds of natural materials such as soil, sand and rocks, this realistic portrait of an anonymous girl from Belfast took four weeks to complete with the help of volunteers.

Titled ‘WISH’, the size of the artwork is meant to bring attention to important social issues—care has also been taken to ensure that only local materials with no environmental impact were used.
