A post by Business Insider takes us behind the scenes to Google’s online video sharing network YouTube’s San Bruno headquarters.
Stocked with kick scooters and bicycles to move around the office, a full-length indoor lap pool, a fitness center, ‘walkstations’ (treadmills with computers, so you can walk while working), a putting green, a one-story grand slide, and nap pods for siestas—it makes for a workplace that encourages employees to healthily balance work and play lifestyle.
Whenever they walk through the lobby, employees can stay up-to-date, as there’s a wall that plays what’s trending on YouTube.
The layout of the headquarters also makes it easy to collaborate and be comfortable—with lots of natural light allowed to shine through the windows, pets allowed to follow their employees to work, and open work spaces for meetings.
YouTube employees, like Google’s, are also given free breakfast, lunch and dinner—at YouTube’s San Bruno office, meals are whipped up by San Francisco-based restaurant Quince’s chef Trent Page.
