Artist Creates Extremely Lightweight, Full-Sized Replicas Of Things In His Home

New York-based Korean artist Do-Ho Suh has constructed intricate and lightweight sculptures of the appliances and fixtures found in his Manhattan apartment, using only polyester fabric.

Creating full sized replicas of his oven, toilet, bathtub and other fixtures, each piece resembles a CAD drawing or digital wireframe.

Each piece carries very little weight and is created in perfect detail, down to the stitching of the brand label.

This series is titled ‘Specimen Series’, and it was created as a part of his upcoming exhibition at Lehmann Maupin in Hong Kong.
