Illinois-based artist Eli Craven’s oddly shaped pieces of paper resemble origami, but it is the imagery that tells a story. His charming series, ‘Screen Lovers’, features couples from iconic movies being ‘folded’ into each other.
Craven collects pictures of lovers from the photo books of classic films, folding them creatively to capture tender moments, while tweaking them to create his own scenes of passion.
“I really wanted to see them come together, touch lips, make love, whatever comes next, so I started folding them into one another,” said Craven.
The black and white vignettes are delicately erotic, where each couple becomes a single entity as their faces and bodies ‘melt’ into one another.
