In a bid to help those who have a hard time getting dates and are afraid of rejection, Brooklyn-based artist and designer Annica Lydenberg took her love for doodling, obsession with type, and quirky sense of humor to create a series of pickup line cards.
‘Seriously’ not to be taken seriously, the lighthearted cheeky series—called ‘Do You Come Here Often’—features some of the cheesiest and most unforgivable pickup lines you’ve ever heard.
But when paired with hand-drawn typography and cute designs, illustrated quotes like “Hey baby, if you were words on paper… you’d be fine print” and “Are those space pants? Because your ass is out of this world” maybe forgiven after all.
Lydenberg’s cards do not promise that you’d get a date, but help you express yourself, and make it easier for you to let that someone you’ve had your eye on know how you feel—by just handing them the card and running away.
If the recipients of the cards have a good sense of humor and do find them laughable—you may have just struck gold and got yourself a date.
